Benny’s Deli is a family run bakery, restaurant and delicatessen situated in the west of Ireland market town of Castlerea, Co. We started out baking fresh apple tarts and brown soda bread from our small bakery on Castlerea’s main street in 1981. We have been getting up early every morning to bake them ever since, but now from a bigger premises on Lower Main Street. They serve 10+ people per day, which Shaunna considers “a big need” compared to the three or four neighbors they used to see each day. Shaunna volunteers as the co-director of the food pantry.

When you show up to the pantry, one of the volunteers will take you around to the different sections of food options available. From canned goods, to proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables and more—neighbors select a certain amount of food based on how many people live in their household. Benny’s House is located at 1139 E Newell in White Cloud and is open Monday through Thursday 10-noon.
